Tall Rando Bag

A bigger bag for bigger bikes. If you have a large gap to fill between your rack and handlebar, a taller bag makes sense. Our Tall Rando Bag weighs only 4 oz. more than our standard Boxy Rando Bag, but gives you 37% (3 L) extra storage space; that's not much of a weight penalty. (Also, our front and rear pockets have been upsized compared to our Boxy Bag.) The only caveat is that swaying will become more of an issue, so you'll want to seriously consider adding a decaleur. This bag is designed to only be used on a small Randonneur front rack (Nitto M-12 shown). Other rack styles will not mount securely.

A note on decaleurs:

It goes without saying that the addition of a decaleur will provide the most wobble-free mount--it's essential if you're riding rough roads or carrying a heavy load. But running a couple of cords to the handlebars (along with our multi-layered stiffener) can help stabilize the bag in less stressful conditions. You might want to test it with the cords first. You can always install a decaleur if it's not stable enough for your needs.
