Our
Large Bag is great for supported tours, commuting or randonnees...anytime
you want to pack a lunch, tools and rain jacket. Ideal for racing
bikes without rack eyelets. Mounting straps are designed for Brooks
saddles with bag loops.
A note on
support racks and "thigh rub":
A bag support
is usually not needed with our improved Large Bag. (A small frame
size, saddle setback or extra heavy load might be the exceptions.)
We've added a small HDPE stiffener to the bottom that helps stabilize
the bag. Also, we refined our bag shape so it sits in a more natural
upward position.
A problem with
larger transverse saddlebags is that it has a tendency to brush
the back of the legs. Our simple leather "stand-off" moves
the bag 2 inches rearward which minimizes "thigh rub"
and helps keep the bag upright. (If you prefer not to use the stand-off,
just use the seatpost strap alone and cut it a little shorter.)
